Part of an ongoing effort to help Minnesotans understand the work of the Minnesota State Auditor… and enjoy mini-donuts.

St. Paul, MN – Crop art Blue Ribbon winner State Auditor Julie Blaha will spend the day at the State Fair on Friday, August 30, 2019. This is part of an ongoing effort to help Minnesotans understand the work of the State Auditor. While enjoying mini-donuts, and probably a waffle, Auditor Blaha will stop at several pertinent locations throughout the day to highlight the work of her office. Among many others, Auditor Blaha will visit the League of Minnesota Cities to talk about oversight of local government and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to highlight the Auditor’s role on the Rural Finance Authority.

“The State Fair is the perfect place to engage Minnesotans on the good work we can do together in local government. The relaxed, carbo loaded atmosphere helps cut through the politics and stress of the challenges we face. There’s nothing like a bag of mini-donuts to help focus on the positive and see solutions.”

Auditor Blaha won two awards at this year’s crop art exhibit. She was awarded a Third Place Ribbon for her “Be Audit You Can Be” entry, while winning the prestigious Blue Ribbon for her piece celebrating the engagement of Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan to former MPR journalist Tom Weber.
